Tuesday Morning we began by fishing. Grandpa Steve had promised to take the kids fishing way back when we first planned the trip. The kids never stopped talking about it. They even wanted to buy fishing poles in Ohio to take with us. That morning we had agreed to meet after breakfast and take a trip to Redondo Beach pier to go fishing. Not realizing how cold it was going to be, everyone was in shorts. So Rob gave Noah his sweatshirt and the girls were wrapped up in towels. We rented two poles and bought some bait at the local shop. The kids were so excited! Unfortunately we didn't catch anything. The reason???? A seal kept eating our bait! After about 30 minutes, the kids had enough and we left the pier. It was fun. |

Noah manned the fishing pole first. |
Steve had to put the bait on the hooks for the kids. Eventually Noah tried to do it and did an okay job. |

Esther was glad when she finally got her turn. |

Anna spent most of the time huddled up on the bench. |

Steve had to make sure the kids didn't fall over. No one wanted to dive in and take a swim in the cold water. |
This picture only touches on how excited the kids were that morning. |

Rob finally gets Anna into the action. Each of the kids at one point saw the seal that was eating the bait. When we left we just gave the rest of the bait to a "real" fisherman. As we left, we walked around the different shops at the pier. This is where we found Veronica's little surprise. Read about it at Veronica's site . |
