| Thursday was spent on the road... well, some of it anyway. We drove up north to meet with friends of ours. (Mark, Melanie, and their new son. Sorry guys, somehow we didn't get any good pictures of you.) Anyway, we met up with them at Hearst Castle. It ended up not being the best place for the kids but it was very lovely. The kids mostly enjoyed running on the benches at the visitor's center at the bottom of the hill. On top, the first thing we saw was the pool. Very nice! | |

| The sunset view was also spectacular. After we left the castle, we went out to dinner. It was at dinner that Rob gave Veronica a little surprise. You have to visit my other site to hear that story. | |
