One of the more recent changes to my website was the changing of the background of this site. Previously, I had the
background of the site encoded into each individual web page. When adding new pages, I just copied the code from one page
to another. However, changing the background for over 80 pages was a very cumbersome job to think of. So, I decided to ask
some other webmasters at the UWSAG forum for advice.
Here is what I learned:
You can create one file to change all the borders for all your pages. It is called a CSS - Cascading Style Sheet.
I used many online resources to find information on CSS. One of the sites that assisted me was the W3C site. Here are the basic rules... First, create a css file using the rules found at the previous site. Alternative, do a web search on css for more help. Second, call the css file from your html document as follows. <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="my.css"> replace "my.css" with the name of your css file. A useful tool for this project was EditPad Lite . This is the editor I used to create my css files. |
